Privacy
Keywordee is built to hold as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, and the apps and keywords you track stay on your Mac. This page says exactly what we do collect.
The controller of the data described here is Andrew Shephard, a sole trader trading as Keywordee, Zahradníčkova 1220/20a, 150 00 Prague, Czech Republic. Contact: [email protected].
What stays on your Mac
Your tracked apps, tracked keywords, tags, notes, rank history and settings are stored on your Mac only. We never receive them. Moving them to another Mac is done by export and import.
What the app sends us
When you activate a Mac, the app sends our service:
- your license key (we store only a one-way hash of it, not the key),
- the Mac's name, as you've named it, so you can recognize it when freeing a seat,
- a one-way hash of the Mac's hardware identifier, which tells us which Mac it is. The identifier itself never leaves your Mac,
- the public half of a key made in your Mac's Secure Enclave (the private half can't leave the Mac), and
- the version of the app.
We also record when an activation was created, last used and removed.
When you look up keywords, the app asks our service for the numbers for the keywords and apps you ask about, in a storefront and platform. We must receive those terms to answer. We keep a count of requests per license per day so we can apply fair-use limits. Keyword numbers are shared by every license.
Like any online service, our servers see the network address and the time of each request. We use it to limit abuse and keep the service running.
The app does not send us analytics, and it does not send your tracked lists. Its local AI agent server listens on your Mac only and needs a token from Settings.
What this website collects
This website sets no cookies and has no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Its fonts are served from this site. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps ordinary server logs of requests, such as network address and pages requested.
If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and we keep it for as long as needed to answer you and keep records of support. This includes emails asking to be told when Keywordee launches or when the Team license is ready.
Payments
You buy Keywordee from Lemon Squeezy, which is the merchant of record. It collects your name, email, payment details and billing address and sends us the order, license and subscription details we need to issue and disable keys. We don't see your card number. Lemon Squeezy handles that data under its own privacy policy. Keywordee doesn't store who you are: the link between a person and a license key sits with Lemon Squeezy.
Who processes data for us
- Lemon Squeezy: payments, receipts, license keys and customer portal.
- Cloudflare: hosting of this website.
- Hetzner: hosting of the Keywordee service and its database.
- Cloudflare Email Routing: forwards mail sent to [email protected] to our mailbox.
- Proton Mail (Proton AG, Switzerland): our mailbox, where mail to [email protected] arrives and is read.
We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Activation records are kept while a license is in use and for 12 months after the license ends or the activation is removed, then deleted. Access tokens last at most an hour. Email is kept as described above.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]. Because we don't hold your name or email in the app's service, we may ask you for your license details to find your records. You can also free a Mac's activation yourself from Settings in the app or from My Orders on your Lemon Squeezy receipt. If you're in the EU, UK or California you have the rights the law gives you there, including to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
We'll update this page if what we collect changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
